about this blog
Weird Times in Wine is the wine blog of Andrew Triska, a wine writer, educator, and biotechnology researcher. I write about wine history, underappreciated wines, emerging wine regions, wine fraud, wine biology, and wine industry news. My current research involves extremophilic fungi and their applications in winegrowing and winemaking. The blog is on hiatus due to my graduate studies and will resume publishing articles and reviewing wines in December 2024.
If you’re looking for my non-wine writing, including the books I’ve written on mental health and self-help, click here for the web site of my psychotherapy practice.
Editorial policies
Samples of wine are welcome, especially wines from lesser-known regions or smaller producers using unusual grapes and interesting winemaking techniques. I’m also interested in wines that deliver quality and innovation at an under-$40 price point. Please send tech sheets if available. My mailing address for samples is 117-14 Union Turnpike #DB1, Queens, NY 11415. Please direct all other mail to my office at 211 E. 43rd St., Fl. 6, Suite 641, New York, NY 10017.
Acceptance of a sample does not guarantee coverage of your products. I do not accept story suggestions or write from press releases. This blog does not publish sponsored content and I do not accept compensation of any kind to cover a product or service.
When linking to a wine or other product, I may use an affiliate link and receive a small amount of compensation if you complete a purchase. The presence of affiliate links do not affect the content of articles or the wines I recommend.
Feel free to contact me via anytime email or using this form.
Graphics
I only feature wines I’m excited about recommending to my readers in this blog. If your wine has been featured in this blog or named as a top value in one of my articles, you’re welcome to use either of the below graphics in your marketing materials.
